Experience
I've got skills.
Data wrangler and web designer, road-results.com and crossresults.com: April 2009 - present
These two cycling-specific results sites provide in-depth data for cyclocross and road racing that is not available anywhere else - such career results, finish percentages and data culled from hundreds of imported result files. This data does not format and load itself (yet), which is where I come in.
Road-results.com is the official results database of the New England Bicycle Racing Association, New England cycling's regional governing body. Data from crossresults.com are frequently used to calculate start positions in races throughout New England.
Both sites are the brainchild of Colin Reuter, a programmer (and fellow cyclist) from Boston.
Co-promoter, Exeter Criterium: May 2004 - present
The Exeter Criterium is a bike race in downtown Exeter, NH, to benefit a scholarship at UNH. It is two days before the Fitchburg-Longsjo Stage race - one of the premier stage races in the US - and since Exeter is a short drive from Fitchburg, it tends to attract national champions, international racers, and domestic professionals as well as friendly faces from the New England racing circuit.
I've helped with the race at of a variety of levels ever since I've known about it. I've organized volunteers, set up registration, created sponsorship flyers, moved hay bales and, of course, raced.
Race weekend coordinator, UNH Cycling: September 2003 - May 2007
During my time with the UNH Cycling team, I successfully promoted three mountain bike race weekends, two road race weekends, one cyclcocross race, two four-week long cyclocross training series and one elementary school safety demonstration - a total of 23 races (and one safety demo). These races were integral to the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference's schedule, as well as a source of funds for the UNH team.
Some of these races were held in torrential downpours, some in good weather, but all with the unique challenge of creating a safe and fun atmosphere for over 100 collegiate cyclists from all over the northeast.
