Experience
I've got skills.
Web Asset Administrator, Timberland: February 2010 to present
I currently work for Timberland, where I am a Web Asset Administrator in their Pro division. I am responsible for ensuring that all products in the Timberland footwear lines are available for order by vendors and sales reps through our vendor site, vendor.timberland.com. On a daily basis, I maintain, update, and troubleshoot issues for these sites.
For Pro, I have also created various tools to make the business run more efficently. This includes a custom tool to create line plans, pulling in images and information from a variety of sources. This tool creates detailed visual line plans in moments, instead of the 40+ man hours that was required to do it manually. I also frequently create web macros and VBA scripts to ease data compilation - replacing hours of ctrl-c, ctrl-v for my coworkers.
Additionally, I aid in development of new sites as dictated by changing market conditions - such as our Canadian dealer locator.
Customer Support, Print Science: May 2007 - February 2010
At Print Science, I provided customer support for their only product - Printers Website. Printers Website is a web package for print shops, allowing any size printing or copy shop the same web presence and technological advantages as a larger national or international printer. I was the sole employee in North America.
I was responsible for training and on-going support for over 100 customers, primarily in the US, but with a few dozen throughout the world. In addition to daily troubleshooting (and question-answering), I customized websites to our customer's needs.
Prior to focusing on Printers Website, I also provided support for ProofMaster RIP, a suite of printing software for color-accurate proofing. Print Science has since moved on from ProofMaster.
Senior Computer Consultant, UNH Computing and Information Services: October 2004 - May 2007
As a Senior Consultant, I fulfilled duties ranging from filling paper trays and helping students with questions to training over thirty other student employees. The various clusters throughout campus contained between 20 and 80 computers, and while working there I was the go-to source for answers regarding software and the peculiarities of UNH's computer network.
Proofreader and Copy Editor, Zackin Publications: May 2006 - August 2006
Zackin Publications produces six vastly different trade magazines, covering alternative energy, dry cleaning and commercial real estate. While at Zackin, I proofread and copy edited for all of these magazines, as well as performing the same acts on advertisements and pre-production pages. I occasionally wrote small pieces for Alternative Energy Retailer.
I was amazed at the amount of knowledge I gained regarding commercial mortgages and chemicals used in dry cleaning.
Reporter, Republican-American: May 2004 - August 2004, May 2005 - August 2005
At the Republican-American in Waterbury, CT, I covered breaking news in and around the city. In addition to spot news, I followed several community stories throughout the summer.
Working at the paper honed my skills in working on a deadline and writing clean, accurate copy - skills which have certainly benefitted me later in life.
